You learn a lot about your self when you are on a quest. Many men have done this. They have gone on a quest to find the secrets of God. The great crusades yielded many quest like the search for the Holy Grail. Mine is the search for megatherium, the giant ground sloth, and when he lived and what he ate. My quest deals with a series of books I am writing on the Ice Age here in Las Vegas. In my research I have met many people from all over the world with the same quest. They search for more information about this giant sloth that was at one time bigger than an elephant. Information comes in pieces and you really have to dig, pardon the expression. In many ways this journey parallels my life and my search for God. Like the God search I do not have all the information but people have helped me on my journey and have aided me in my quest for holiness. A sense of brotherhood develops and a bond for life is forged with the people you find on this God Quest. I am finding this bond lasts for a lifetime.
Each quest in my life has brought me closer to people. Perhaps this effect is what God wants for us. To take a quest and touch others. Every life we touch can be effected in a certain way. I guess this is why we should maintain holiness in life so that when we touch others we are an example of Christ in every way.
In a way this might depress you. You might not be worthy of this in your mind. God tells us that all of us may not be able to fit through the gates of Heaven, but we try regardless and our efforts will be judged. If one does not try, now that would yield sad results.
